SOLA SCRIPTURE - IS THIS TRUE?
The answer is, possibly surprisingly to those who believe in Bible alone it is quite the opposite. The proof of this is in the Bible:
25 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.
You must conclude that there are much more that Jesus taught that was written in the Bible. But does it say more about this subject,... Well yes.
Thessalonians Chapter 2:
14 Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.
For Protestant Bibles this verse number is 15:
Therefore the Bible itself tells us there are teachings of "word" - which can be called Tradition (colloquially referred to as "tribal knowledge" in today's business environment). The Tradition of passed down epistle (i.e. written word) or word (i.e. spoke word) is the tradition that is to be continued on (and is by the Catholic Church).
And to head off any argument that the Catholic Bible left out a line, The Douay-Rheims Bible, of which I am referencing and can be found here has one line for verse 10 while the King James Bible breaks that up into two lines...
