 MAUNDY THURSDAY Today the Church begins the commemoration period called the  Sacred Tridium  - 3 days of our Lord's Passion leading to the 4th day, his resurrection. Maundy Thursday  is the first of the three days and after the Vigil tonight, and until the Vigil of Easter, a more profoundly somber attitude prevails (most especially during the hours between Noon and 3:00 PM on Good Friday). Raucous amusements should be set aside... Maundy Thursday  (also "Holy Thursday" or "Shire Thursday"1) commemorates Christ's Last Supper, the initiation of the Eucharist, the institution of the priesthood, and our Lord's Agony in the Garden of Gethsemani on the Mount of Olives.   SOLA SCRIPTURE - IS THIS TRUE? The answer is, possibly surprisingly to those who believe in Bible alone it is quite the opposite.   The proof of this is in the Bible: John Chapter 21:      25  But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.   IS THE POPE IN THE BIBLE? For any question about where is XYZ found in the Bible as "soul proof" of right or wrong, I ask those who believe in "Sola Scriptura" -or- "Bible Alone" - where does it say in the Bible that everything that Christ wants us to do is in the Bible?    For that answer see my post on Sola Scriptura .   The answer is that nowhere in the Bible does it tell us that we are held to the Bible Alone as proof, in fact the Bible tells us that Christ taught more than what can be held by all books in the world, and it tells us to hold fast to word and scripture (i.e. passed down word and written down word)... Now that's out of the way, I'll say, "yes" the Pope is in the Bible and it is a word handed down in more full deep contacts. Septuagesima Sunday This begins a distinct seventeen-day preparatory season, marked by three solemn Sundays: Septuagesima Sexagesima Quinquagesima Together, they form a gentle descent – not yet the fast, but the shadow of it – inviting reflection before sacrifice, silence before self-denial. In Mass today the Alleluia is buried.  That joyful cry of heaven is no longer sung or spoken in the Mass and will not return until Easter dawns.  This silence is deliberate. Faith & Works - the dividing Christian argument

I think that all Christians believe that you are saved by God's Grace, but does it end there?   Well let's look at the Bible... Epistle of St Paul to the Ephesians, Chapter 2 8  For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, for it is the gift of God;    9  Not of works , that no man may glory. This seems to clearly state that works are not needed, but let's read on. 10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus in good works, which God hath prepared that we should walk in them. Now that we read verse 10 with 8 and 9 we see that we are saved by Grace, but we need to cooperate with grace with action - our workmanship. Your faith is your work - you must be active in accepting God's Grace in order that we should walk "in them".  We must walk with good works - we must do something, we cannot sit back idle. Catholic Mass & Priesthood and Christs sacrifice

  Have you really - I mean truly - looked into Catholic Mass - matching it against the Theology of the Trinity, Priesthood, Worship, and propitiatory Sacrifice. God created Leviticus Priesthood; in this how did sin get cleansed? Before the Leviticus priesthood there was the Priesthood of Melchizedek. Who set that in place - the Bible does not tell us, but understanding theology can give us all the clues we need. Christ's sacrifice is the one and eternal sacrifice where ALL sins are forgiven - IF (and that's a big if) you confess. - Who does the Bible tell us to confess our sins? - Who did Christ give power to forgive sins? - How do your and my sins get pinned to Christ's cross? Deep thoughts of utter importance to your eternity.
